Terms & conditions

Last updated: 20 July 2026

These terms apply to the website itself. Any paid training, consultancy or outsourcing engagement is governed by a separate written agreement agreed with the client.

About these terms

The Cattalyst is a trading name operated by Oliver Catt. These terms govern access to and use of thecattalyst.com. By using the website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the site. References to The Cattalyst, we, us or our mean the website operator and authorised Cattalyst team members acting on its behalf.

Website information only

Website content, including articles, FAQs, resources, examples, service descriptions and calls to action, is provided for general business information. It is not a substitute for advice tailored to your organisation. Although we take reasonable care over published content, we do not promise that every item is complete, error free, suitable for a particular purpose or current in every jurisdiction.

Nothing on the site is legal, financial, tax, regulatory, employment, investment or other regulated professional advice. This is especially important where an article discusses collections, communications, sales practices, employment or sector regulation. Obtain appropriate independent advice before acting in a regulated or high-risk context.

Enquiries and service engagements

Submitting a form, sending a message, booking an introductory call, receiving a proposal or discussing a possible project does not by itself create a contract, partnership, agency, fiduciary duty or exclusive relationship. A service engagement begins only when the relevant parties enter a separate written agreement. That agreement will control the scope, deliverables, responsibilities, charges, confidentiality, data processing, liability and governing law for the work.

Do not send passwords, payment-card details, health information, confidential client datasets or other sensitive material through the general enquiry form. Information submitted through the website is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

Intellectual property

Unless stated otherwise, the website's original text, design, graphics, training concepts, downloads, code and Cattalyst branding belong to The Cattalyst or are used under licence. You may view, print and share links to public pages for personal or internal business reference. You may not reproduce substantial content, remove attribution, sell it, present it as your own, create a competing content library from it or use it commercially without written permission.

Client, partner and third-party names, logos and trademarks belong to their respective owners. Their appearance identifies relevant experience or relationships and does not transfer ownership or necessarily imply a current endorsement, sponsorship or ongoing engagement.

Search engines and automated access

Search engines and AI systems may index or retrieve public content in accordance with our robots.txt, llms.txt, technical controls and applicable law. Automated access must not bypass restrictions, overload the service, collect personal information, misrepresent our content or remove source attribution. Permission to index a public page is not permission to reuse our branding or republish a substantial content collection as a competing product.

Acceptable use

You must not use the website to:

  • break the law, infringe rights or facilitate fraud, abuse or harmful activity
  • gain or attempt unauthorised access to accounts, systems, data or networks
  • introduce malware, malicious code, spam, denial-of-service traffic or disruption
  • probe or test security without prior written permission
  • harvest contact details or personal information from the site
  • impersonate The Cattalyst or misrepresent an association with us
  • circumvent rate limits, access controls, robots instructions or other safeguards

We may restrict or block access reasonably believed to threaten the site, its users or our providers, and may preserve and disclose relevant records where required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights and security.

Availability and security

We aim to keep the site accurate, secure and available, but provide it on an as-is and as-available basis. Access may be interrupted for maintenance, provider outages, security work or events outside our reasonable control. We may change, suspend or remove any page or feature without notice. No website or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure or continuously available.

Third-party services and links

The website links to third-party services, including a hosted booking service, social networks and cited sources. We do not control their content, availability, security, accessibility or privacy practices and are not responsible for them. A link is provided for convenience or attribution and is not necessarily an endorsement. Your use of a third-party service is governed by its own terms and notices.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, The Cattalyst is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, opportunity, goodwill, anticipated savings, business interruption or data arising from use of, inability to use or reliance on this free public website or a linked third-party service.

If we are liable for a claim arising solely from use of this website, our liability is limited to direct loss that was reasonably foreseeable and directly caused by our breach. Liability connected with paid services is governed by the separate service agreement. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, wilful misconduct, or any other liability or mandatory right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Privacy and cookies

Our Privacy Policy explains how website information is handled. Our Cookie Policy explains the first-visit consent controls and browser storage. Those policies form part of the information governing your use of the site.

Applicable law and disputes

The law and courts with authority over a website dispute are determined by the rules that apply to the operator, the visitor and the dispute. Nothing in these terms removes mandatory consumer, data-protection or other rights that cannot lawfully be waived where you live. A separate service agreement may specify the governing law, dispute process and forum for that engagement, and will control those matters for the paid services it covers.

General provisions

If any part of these terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver of it. These terms, together with the Privacy and Cookie Policies, form the agreement governing use of this website and do not replace any separate written service agreement.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms when the website, our operating arrangements or applicable requirements change. The revision date above identifies the current version. Questions can be sent to oliver@thecattalyst.com.
