Leadership training
Choosing the right leadership development route, from first-time managers and frontline supervisors to multi-country leadership programmes.
We are not sure which program we need. Where do we start?
Start with a conversation. Tell Oliver what you are seeing: conversations getting avoided, standards that vary, managers who seem out of their depth. The right starting point becomes clear from there. Many organisations end up combining two or three of the programs on this page rather than choosing one in isolation.
Explore the leadership and team training overviewHow is this different from Frontline Leadership training?
This program is about the transition itself, the first months of becoming a manager, before or as it happens. Frontline Leadership is about running the ongoing job once someone is established in it: setting standards, coaching performance, leading the day-to-day. Many people move from this program into frontline leadership development as they settle into the role.
Compare first-time manager trainingOur supervisors have never had any formal training. Is this pitched too high?
No, it is built for exactly that starting point. Discovery establishes where each cohort is, and the program meets them there. Experienced-but-untrained supervisors usually progress fastest, because the content names problems they already live with.
See frontline leadership trainingCan you run this across several sites or countries?
Yes. Oliver has delivered leadership development across the Caribbean, North America and the UK, and programs can run as regional cohorts, site-by-site waves, or a mix of in-person and virtual sessions.
Review the frontline leadership delivery optionsHow do you measure whether it has worked?
We measure it through behaviours and operational indicators agreed with senior leadership during discovery: things like how consistently standards are being applied, or how confidently managers report handling situations they used to escalate. What gets measured is set for your organisation specifically.
Explore leadership development programmesCan our internal trainers take this over once it is running?
Yes, where that is the goal. Train-the-trainer handover equips internal L&D staff or senior managers to run modules or refresher sessions themselves, so the standard keeps being reinforced after the original program ends.

Customer service and contact centre outsourcing
Practical answers about team size, brand alignment, hybrid delivery, day-to-day management, technology and existing BPO relationships.
How many agents do we need to start?
There is no fixed minimum or maximum. Engagements have ranged from small teams of around five people to teams running into the hundreds. The right size comes out of discovery: your volumes, hours and channels.
Explore customer service outsourcingWill agents sound like our brand, or like a call centre?
Training, quality design and monitoring are built around your tone and standards, and most customers cannot tell the team is external. That said, an outsourced team will not know your business the way a long-serving employee does on day one. That gap closes with proper onboarding and time.
See how outsourced customer service is designedCan we keep some customer service in-house and outsource the rest?
Yes, that is a common model, and sometimes the right one. Many businesses keep complex or high-value accounts in-house and route overflow, after-hours or lower-complexity contacts to the partner team. The split is designed around what genuinely needs your direct judgement.
Review hybrid customer service deliveryWho manages the outsourced team day to day?
That depends on the delivery model agreed during discovery. Some engagements run under the partner's own team leaders with your oversight and reporting; others involve closer, more hands-on management from your side. Which one fits depends on how much control you need and how the partner is set up.
See the outsourcing implementation routeWhat about our existing tools and systems?
Every partner already works with a different stack, and not every combination is a straightforward fit. Which of your systems the team can access, and how integration works, gets assessed properly during selection rather than assumed up front.
Read about customer service outsourcing fitCan you review our current BPO without moving us to a different provider?
Yes, and it's a common starting point. A lot of what looks like a partner problem turns out to be a brief, a process or a metric problem sitting underneath the relationship. Remediation is often the right answer, and replacing the provider is never assumed as the outcome before the review has happened.

Sales outsourcing and lead generation
What outsourced sales development, lead qualification, appointment setting and follow-up can realistically do, and what still needs client leadership.
Can you guarantee a certain number of sales or a specific conversion rate?
No, and anyone who does before understanding your offer, market and data is not being straight with you. What we commit to is a properly trained, well-managed team working your process consistently, with clear reporting on what is converting and what is not.
Explore sales outsourcingWhat is the difference between hiring our own SDRs and outsourcing this?
Your own SDRs know your business inside out, but cost more to build and carry the ramp-up and turnover most inside-sales teams go through. An outsourced team can be resourced faster and flexed up or down, but it only performs if you brief it properly, train it on your product and stay involved. It is a different structure, not a shortcut.
Compare outsourced SDR and in-house sales teamsHow much oversight does this need from us?
This needs more than a set-it-and-forget-it pitch suggests. You will need to be involved in product training, approve messaging and scripts, review call recordings periodically and stay close to what qualification is producing. An outsourced sales team extends your capacity. It does not remove the need for your sales leadership to lead.
Review the client role in sales outsourcingWill the same people work our account, or does it rotate?
Continuity is planned for deliberately, particularly on longer sales cycles where the relationship with a prospect matters. Team structure and continuity commitments are agreed and set out clearly before work starts, rather than left as an assumption on either side.
Read about outsourced sales team continuityCan this work for a complex, high-value product, or is it only for simple, high-volume sales?
Both, but the model differs. High-volume, shorter-cycle products suit an outsourced team handling the full conversation. Complex or high-value products usually work better with an outsourced team doing qualification, appointment setting or SDR activity, while your specialists handle the technical and relationship-heavy parts of closing.

Outsourcing delivery models and locations
How location, operating model, partner selection, time zone, language, cost and the nature of the work shape an outsourcing decision.
Which countries can teams be based in?
Partners across the network operate across the Caribbean, North America, the United Kingdom, South Africa and international markets, spanning onshore, nearshore and offshore delivery. Which one fits depends on language, time zone, cost and the nature of the work. See Delivery Locations for what each option is realistically good for.
Compare outsourcing delivery locationsIs The Cattalyst independent, or do you get paid by the partners?
Commercial arrangements are discussed openly from the first conversation, including how The Cattalyst is remunerated for a given engagement. The shortlist is built on verified capability against your requirements, and you meet and select the partner directly rather than taking our word for it. Ask the question outright on the first call and you will get a straight answer.
Read how the global partner network worksHow is this different from finding a BPO ourselves through a directory or a broker?
A directory gives you names. It does not tell you which one can deliver what you need. We compare shortlisted partners against your specific requirements using an existing, verified network, and work through shortlisting and commercial review with you, rather than handing over a list and leaving you to run forty separate sales processes alone.
Explore the outsourcing matching modelWe already outsource. Why would we look at this?
Reviewing an existing arrangement is one of the most common reasons people start this conversation. Sometimes the review confirms the current partner is the right fit and nothing changes. Sometimes it surfaces a gap in cost, capability or service worth addressing, whether that means renegotiating, adding a second provider, or moving the work.
Review an existing BPO relationshipDo we speak to the delivery partner directly, or only to The Cattalyst?
You speak to the partner directly. Shortlisted partners are introduced and met before any selection is made. You are choosing the team that will run your operation, based on what you see for yourself.

Implementation, governance, cost and fit
Straight answers on discovery, commercial review, go-live, stabilisation, governance and whether outsourcing is the right decision at all.
How long does it take from the first call to go-live?
It depends on scope and complexity. A small pilot on a single process can be live in a matter of weeks; a complex transition involving multiple processes, locations or systems takes months. We set a realistic timeline during discovery, once we understand what is involved, rather than quoting a number before we know the scope.
Review the six-phase outsourcing routeWhat does this cost?
There is no fixed price list, because the answer depends on the process, location, volumes and operating model agreed during design. What we can promise is that the commercial structure is discussed openly from the first conversation. Every cost is compared line by line during commercial review before you commit to anything: setup, training, technology, telecom, management.
See how commercial review worksWhat happens if it is not working after go-live?
That is what the stabilisation phase exists for. Performance is reviewed against the assumptions set during commercial review, and issues are named and worked through rather than left to settle on their own. A rough first few weeks is common; a problem that goes unaddressed is not.
Read about stabilisation and governanceWe need to move quickly. Can we skip discovery or shortlisting?
Discovery can be compressed, but it cannot be skipped. Most of the expensive mistakes in outsourcing trace back to a decision made too fast, before the objectives, volumes or compliance requirements were properly understood. If the timeline is tight, we prioritise what needs answering first rather than cutting steps out.
Explore discovery and shortlistingIf we go through the assessment, do we have to buy outsourcing afterwards?
No. The recommendation follows the evidence, and sometimes the evidence points away from outsourcing altogether, or toward fixing something in-house first. This is advisory work, not the first step of a sale.
See the independent contact centre assessmentWhat if the review finds that outsourcing genuinely isn't right for us?
Then that's the recommendation, stated plainly, with the reasoning behind it. It's a legitimate outcome of this work. Some organisations aren't at the stage, scale or process maturity where outsourcing would help yet.
